Come out, come out, wherever you are!

Have you ever wondered why you only see bugs in your house when they come out and lay in the very middle of the floor (usually the kitchen) gasping and kicking for their last breath? Why is that? And why are they always on their backs when you find them? Are they so clumsy that a little bread crumb trips them up and...oh well...there goes my chances for a nice bug's life!? Oh, and I love how they like to come out and play dead when company visits. Nice touch, that. Bugs are such drama queens!

If you're wondering why I'm blogging about bugs, here's why...

I found this little bugger in an odd place as places to find bugs go. He (or she?) was at the end of the hallway near our front bedroom. He was, of course, on his back. The only thing I can think of is that he was meandering across the threshold from the carpet to the wood floor, and, oops! There he went! I actually found him not moving at all and he made no attempts to kick when I gently nudged him with my shoe.

That was yesterday.

Today, when I woke up, he was kicking and moving frantically. Hence, the bug jail, a.k.a. "glass." I wouldn't want him to miraculously flip over and run away, now would I? Oh, and if you're also wondering why I didn't get rid of him yesterday... Well, ewww! I forgot to tell my hubby about him and I am not about to touch it myself. Cut me some slack, ok? Me and bugs are not friends. I know God gave us dominion over all the creatures of the earth, but if He wanted me to be able to dispose of a bug, then He shouldn't have made them so darn crunchy!

The mere sound of stepping on a bug makes chill bumps pop out all over my body and shivers run up my spine. Not pleasant. At all.

So, Mr. Bug will stay right there in his buggy jail until hubby gets home from work. Then, we will see. I'll probably have to convince Nathan to squish him because for some reason he thinks even BUGS should be allowed to live. Why, I don't know. I do know that this bug is not going to be thrown outside just so he can come back into MY house. No, sir. Not this time!!

  1. I HATE bugs too! YUCK YUCK YUCK Although, I do go ahead and kill them as soon as I see them, because I don't want to lose them and then them crawl on me later...I have nightmares of that! Good thing you put a glass over him! Now he for sure won't get away!:)
